Corey Newman joined Katalyst Group as the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition, bringing over 15 years of experience in accounting and executive recruiting. As a Certified Public Accountant and graduate of the Kelley School of Business with degrees in Accounting and Marketing from Indiana University Bloomington, Corey approaches talent acquisition with first-hand knowledge of in-demand skills and an appreciation of soft skills. Additionally, he is committed to serving as a trusted advisor to clients and candidates alike.
Corey began his career in public accounting at a global CPA firm, where he gained a strong foundation in financial reporting and audit. He later joined a multi-billion-dollar public company applying his expertise as a CPA for a major IPO. While there, he contributed to refining their S1 filing and establishing a concise SEC environment, both critical for the closing and valuation of an IPO.
In his recruiting career, Corey has become known for his ability to identify and deliver high-caliber talent for mission-critical initiatives. He has positively impacted numerous careers and provided local and global businesses with solutions ranging from interim project resources and permanent placement. His unique combination of industry knowledge and hands-on experience in accounting enables him to address complex hiring challenges with accuracy and insight while serving as a trusted advisor.
