Interview day is a culmination of your professional experience and accomplishments, hard work, educational achievements, and ambition.
It also means for many, the interview jitters. From the thousands of interviews we have conducted, we know that interviewees get the jitters around:
- Control
- Approval
- Security

To stay calm, focused, and confident, the Katalyst Group team is sharing it’s tried and true interview tips:
- Evaluate the company as much as the company is evaluating you: it’s a two-way street.
- Give yourself plenty of time: be in the “parking lot” 15-30 minutes before you walk in the front door. If it’s a virtual interview, be at your computer, the same, 15-30 minutes before you go-live.
- Time your entry into the office: eight minutes is the earliest you want to walk in the front door. If it’s a virtual interview, log into meeting no more than eight minutes prior to the scheduled interview.
- Rest assure, you’ve already been vetted: your recruiter has already built that bridge between you and the organization, now it’s up to you to build upon that bridge.
- Support is here for you: feel free to call your recruiter before or after the interview or the recruiter can call you.
- Remain at eye level: while sitting may be more comfortable, remember to stand up. This means to stay standing when waiting to meet the interviewer or next person to arrive, ready to make eye-to-eye contact and shake hands.
- Eliminate noise and distractions: remember to switch your cell phone to silent mode.
That’s it, good luck!
